Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů apologizes to Karel Boleslav Jirák for not answering his letters earlier, but he was in Europe and that kept him busy. BM teaches at Princeton and likes the work, even though it is demanding. He saw [Karel] Šebánek in Prague [! probably a mistake] and was lured back and offered a professorship at the Academy of Performing Arts. BM is surprised by [the emigration of Rafael] Kubelík, he thought that RK had an exceptional position in the Czechoslovakia. BM starts sending food parcels home again. [Ferdinand] Peroutka is due to arrive in New York. BM sees only [Rudolf] Rikusny and [Charles] Munch, who is also coming to Chicago. BM thinks the people in France have changed, but the stay was otherwise great. BM congratulates KBJ on the top spot. BM also teaches at the Mannes School of Music and is surprised at how interested he is in teaching.
