Content and physical description
ContentKarel Boleslav Jirák agrees with Bohuslav Martinů that it is difficult to deal with official matters by correspondence. KBJ has an acquaintance at the ministry, Jiří Zhora, to whom he wrote, but the letter went unanswered. KBJ did not know that Jan Löwenbach would be in New York. He is an acquaintance of his, but both JL and Dr. [Rudolf] Firkušný claim that the Ministry has no influence on the [Performing Arts Academy in Prague]. KBJ wonders whether BM has accepted a professorship at the Academy and whether he intends to relocate permanently to Prague - from previous letters KBJ is under the impression that he has not. KBJ asks because he is also currently dealing with the question of whether to return to his homeland. KBJ writes that professors at the Academy are indeed still appointed on a temporary basis.
