Content and physical description
ContentKarel Boleslav Jirák has been in the USA since June and teaches at Roosevelt College in Chicago. When he was in New York in June, he tried to contact Bohuslav Martinů, but failed. Charlotte Martinů told him when they met at the festival in Prague [Prague Spring] that they were already in the country. KBJ would like to talk to BM and clarify matters with him from 1939, when C[elestin] Rypl arranged for KBJ to be dismissed from radio and BM to take his place. KBJ has documents in his hand on this matter and in June after the war he was acquitted by the commission of those malicious charges. Nevertheless, the radio gave him his notice and he now has to teach in the USA because he has no job in Czechoslovakia. KBJ was indeed nominated for a professorship at AMU, but the appointment still did not happen. KBJ would rather teach Czech students at home than black and yellow students in the USA. KBJ would like to get a few lines from BM. KBJ assures BM that nothing has changed in his positive attitude.
