Content and physical description
ContentEva Bernáthová gives thanks to Gregory Terian for sending her the Martinů Newsletter and for writing so nicely about the CONCERTINO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA, H 269. She forgot to tell GT yesterday that she was not born in Brno, but in Budapest where she studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. After getting her professor and performance diploma in 1947, she married to Prague where she started her concert career. Three days before a concert, she jumped in on the place of Josef Páleníček, who became ill, and on 1 January 1948 she played Tchaikovsky's piano concerto in the Smetana Hall. She is sending GT Britten's piano concerto which she recorded for Radio Köln in the last century.
