Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů apologises for the late reply to the letter of 13 August, he was travelling.
His German is bad. If the Schott publishers had written to him in English or French, it would have simplified many things.
As for the name [PARABOL], the French "Paraboles" is probably best. The addressee was right that the title "Desert" was not suitable for the third part, BM had a different motto. He now suggests leaving only the first motto for all three parts, so as not to complicate things. It will remain in French. BM does not know if it is necessary to ask Ëditions Gallimard for permission to quote. Mottos are mainly for BM and for the programs. But it might be best to leave everything without explanation, just as "Parabolas". BM asks for the addressee's opinion.
He has not yet heard from Charles Munch. He writes very rarely.
He received a cheque from AMP and thanks them for it.
He is staying in Nice until December; gives his address.
