Content and physical description
ContentWilhelm Strecker is glad that Bohuslav Martinů is in Europe. He hopes to meet him occasionally. He leaves for England today and will return in about ten days.
From Pierre Fournier they have acquired the CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO [No. 1] for the Schott publishing house. It will be available on the spot to interested parties who contact Schott. If August Wenzinger writes to them, they will be able to make all the necessary arrangements at once.
Mr. Wall of the AMP will visit them in September. They will discuss with him the question of ASCAP and the composer's American rights. Schott is prepared to distribute BM's works published by AMP in Europe and to have a list of BM's works published by Schott and AMP.
WS will have the composer sent a full accounting now that BM is in Europe. He will also send him a pocket score of the CONCERTANT SYMPHONY ["Sinfonia Concertante"]. The piece had already been published [only loan material?] long before the war, but remained completely unknown. Perhaps this small score will help to arouse new interest. Perhaps BM no longer even remembers it. When WS returns, he will give the composer more detailed information. He will be available in Mainz as always.
