Content and physical description
ContentEarl George met David Diamond, who gave him news of Bohuslav Martinů and gave him his Swiss address. EG will be in Italy until at least May, thanks to a Guggenheim grant, where he is completing a piano concerto and variations for orchestra. After the grant runs out, he will leave for the United States to look for a new job. Over the past three years he has spent a year in Oslo, where he lectured on modern music at the university, a year in Rochester, where he wrote his PhD thesis, and is now living in Italy for a year. But now he would like to settle down in one place. EG has many relatives in Switzerland, such as Mr and Mrs Rossier. Irene Rossier is an active musician - BM might know her and tell her that she and EG know each other. EG would like BM to get in touch and at least write a postcard with news of his life.
