Content and physical description
ContentEduard Dolníček and Jaromír Strážnický convey to Bohuslav Martinů the warm greetings of his friends and listeners of his music. They tell him that people really like him. They do not forget him, just as BM does not forget his homeland, which is an inspiration especially for the creation of folk songs. These songs are the strongest bond that binds the people to their land. ED and JS would like BM to see the enthusiasm of his listeners in his native land, not only in concerts but also when listening to the recordings on the radio. The senders also reminisce about the World War II era. They decided to create a biography of him to further familiarize listeners with BM's work. They want to translate the 1943 biography that appeared in The Music Quarterly. Unfortunately, they are missing information about the years 1943-1956, so they ask BM to fill in the blanks. It is clear to them that the composer does not have much time, so they ask for English sources at least. They assure him that his name will be indelibly engraved in the memory of the people, just like the names of other world composers.
