ContentCharlotta Martinů writes to the Prinses that they [and Bohuslav Martinů] were very sad when they learned of their departure after their return from Nice. ChM and BM returned to Basel earlier than planned. BM had an X-ray and had to undergo an operation on his stomach for stomach ulcers. The Sachers entrusted him to the care of surgeon Rudolf Nissen. BM was operated on the 14th [11th] and the results are the best they could have been. BM is looking better, has no fever and the doctors are satisfied with him.
It has been foggy in Schönenberg since the arrival of the Martins (8.11.), it was warmer in Nice. ChM hopes the Prins are healthy.
