Content and physical description
ContentOtakar Šourek congratulates Miloš Šafránek on his grandchild. He offers a performance of Germaine Leroux in Prague. OŠ considered publishing a biography of [Bohuslav] Martinů in the Orbis edition, but only authors who have died are included. The best way would be to publish a large monograph on BM MŠ in the Musical Matrix. However, this edition does not print music examples; the MŠ is supposed to express what it thinks about this. The OC regrets the treatment of BM (and similarly of [Václav] Talich) and thinks that it [calling BM to the post of professor at the Prague Conservatoire] is a question of politics. If BM had worked in the USSR there would have been more willingness to him in the Czechoslovakia. The result of the election does not give much hope for a reversal. [Václav] Holzknecht, director of the Conservatory, assured the OC that he was trying to resolve BM's call.
