Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů is eagerly awaiting a letter from Charlotte Martinů with information about the progress of the trip. He is aware that he has not been treating her well recently and explains that this is due to his state of health. He went to lunch at [Alain] Divis's. He is trying to bring order into his life. He has just begun composing a CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA [No. 3] for Rudolf [Firkušný]. He was visited by [Louis] Speyer, who told him that [Elisabeth] Sprague-Coolidge would have the Quintet [Klavier Quintet No. 2] performed. LS also informed him that [Arthur] Honegger had apparently obtained a position as professor of composition at Tanglewood. RF is playing in Boston next week, going somewhere near Newfoundland tomorrow. BM also paid a visit to Mr. Martink. RF thinks ChM should talk to Anna [Masaryk] who can get her a meeting with [Marta] Benes.
