ContentJosef Schieszl heard that the Conservatory's vacancy is up to date. So he is once again turning to Bohuslav Martinů, whom he met four years ago in Paris as a rare person living in difficult circumstances. Compared to others, he has the disadvantage of living for many years outside Prague. Moreover, his competitors have a place, but he does not, and until recently he lived on the support of the President [T. G. Masaryk]. JS would like to appeal to all concerned and begs to exert influence in his favour. In doing so, he recalls how in the past, often outstanding men were not understood or facilitated in their creative work by their contemporaries.
