Content and physical description
ContentBecause of the Czech Philharmonic's tour, Bohuslav Martinů has only just gotten an answer, and he apologises. He wants Josef Schieszl to accept the dedication. The circumstances with the conservatory don't play a role. The intention to dedicate the work to him arose when he was writing it, and the reason is the memories of his first visit to Josef Schieszl. He took away from them a beautiful impression that opened up new horizons for him. He owes him a debt, and this way he can repay it. The work is very dear to him and he could not give it to anyone else, after all it has been connected with the JS family from the beginning. BM would be happy for the manuscript of the score to return to JS "so to speak" when it is no longer needed. BM begs to be persuaded both by him and by Charlotte Martin. BM looks forward to seeing him and Prague.
