ContentWith the vacancy at the master's school left by Josef Suk, Bohuslav Martinů is confronted with a question that he and Josef Schieszl had already discussed in Paris. BM thinks that he cannot pass up this opportunity and not take part in the audition. Schieszl promised to help him in Paris, so he turns to him for advice. He does not take any further action on the matter until he gets a response. Miloš Šafránek only wants to inform the Minister for himself. [Kamil] Kroft. BM hopes that he has some hope and right to the post, both because of his knowledge and because of his stay in Paris, which brings a new and better orientation, which he proves by his work. BM mentions again the question of support, he has not yet received any resolution. He has been offered to work for the Russian Ballet of Monte Carlo and has promised them his cooperation. But in the present situation he could not in good conscience embark on a work that bore traces of inner dissipation. Otherwise, of course, it would be important for his music and ours, since this company plays all year round in the greatest theatres in America, England and Paris. It is a great responsibility, and BM cannot commit himself to a work if he does not know whether he will be able to complete it to his satisfaction.
