Content and physical description
ContentAfter speaking with Sergei Kusevicky, R. D. Welch decided to ask Bohuslav Martinu if he would be willing to meet with him in the coming days to discuss the Princeton University faculty position vacated by Professor Randall Thompson. The university needs an eminent composer who would be willing to teach advanced students music theory and composition. The job would require teaching two days a week during the academic year. There are not many students and most of them are graduate students. It would be a fugue course and an orchestration course. A few students want to be composers and may need individual help. If BM is interested, RDW would be happy to meet with him. He can come to NYC on May 22 or 23 and asks for confirmation by phone or telegram to the contacts listed.
