Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Charlotte Martinů that he has left the hospital and is recuperating in Vermont. He's lost 15 pounds, but he's already gained back ten. He's moving because it's foggy and rainy in Berkshire while the air is clear in Vermont. He's going to see Rudolph [Firkushny] this weekend. BM reports that his health was more serious than ChM may have suspected, but he is now recovering rapidly thanks to the care of devoted friends.
He mentions that he plans to undergo a complete examination by specialists in New York to see if it is safe to travel to Europe. If the trip would be too risky, ChM recommends starting to look for a plane to return to the US.
