ContentKarl Vötterle writes to Hermann Wedekind about the performance of MIRANDOLINA. KV wanted to meet HW during his stay in Basel but did not meet him in person. They will therefore discuss the whole matter in writing.
Bohuslav Martinů had promised to perform the premiere of MIRANDOLINA at the National Theatre in Prague and did not know (or forgot) that Paul Sacher had already negotiated the Stadttheater Basel.
Prague will perform MIRANDOLINA as part of the 1959 Prague Spring Festival, using its own self-produced performance materials. The premiere in German would then remain for Basel. BM will now compare the piano extract with the score as soon as possible so that production can begin. HW is to let HW know as soon as possible whether they accept this offer.
