Content and physical description
ContentMŠ remembers Koussevitzky's great performance of BM's First Symphony, which unfortunately was not understood by the critics in New York, with the exception of Virgil Thompson [sic]. He would make it a rule that critics were not allowed to write about a new work unless they had studied the score and attended several performances beforehand. He invites Koussevitzky to dinner after the 7 January concert at the home of Mrs. Iche Waldes, who was in Prague with her husband supporting the artist.

MS is remembering Koussevitzky's magnificent performance of Martinů's First Symphony, which, however, with the exception of Virgil Thompson [sic] was not understood by the New York critics. He would recommend a rule, according to which critics would not be permitted to write about a new work, if they previously had not studied the score and heard it in several performances. He invites SK to supper after his concert on January 7 at the apartment of Mme Iča Waldes, who together with her husband supported art in Prague.
