Content and physical description
ContentBM did not intend to give the score of La Bagarre to anyone other than SK. However, he promised Talich that he would be able to perform the piece in Vienna this month. He hoped SK would perform it in Paris. It's important; he hasn't had any luck so far, and already thinks he never will, although he's working hard. He is telegraphing to Boston to get the part and has also written to Talich in Prague; at any rate, the SK piece is available. He regrets the misunderstanding. He hopes that SK will not be angry anymore and will encourage him again.

BM did not intend to give the score of La Bagarre to any other than SK. However, he has promised Talich that he could perform this work in Vienna this month, on May 18. He had hoped that SK would perform it in Paris. It is an important matter; he has not had good luck and had come to think that he never would have, even after long, hard work. He is telegraphing to Boston to obtain the parts, and he has also written to Talich to [obtain] parts for Vienna; in any case, the music is at Koussevitzky's disposal. He regrets the misunderstanding. He hopes that SK will not bear a grudge, and again give him encouragement to continue his efforts.
