ContentKunc telephoned the managing director of the Philharmonic Beseda, Mr. Ant. Kolář, who is also the managing director of the Smetana Jubilee Foundation's Curatorium, about the symphony BM. He said that it was not the symphony that had been sent for audition [as Martinů wrote in a previous letter], but the composition La bagarre, which did not receive a prize. Kunc was not on the committee; Neumann, Ostrčil and Černušák were there. Kunc read BM's letter about his plans for the future to Mr Spišek, and asked for support for BM again, as it was better for BM to be in Paris now and not at home.
