ContentSheet 1: Note: This is a letter written in B's handwriting. Martinů in French - he probably wrote it on behalf of R. Kundera; the letter was addressed to an unknown addressee for whom R. Kundera was painting a portrait. In the abstract, by "writer" we mean R. Kundera.

Mucha about the addressee's decision to pay only 7,000Fr for the portrait, and recalls that he demanded the sum of 15,000Fr (...); the writer expresses his disagreement with this decision, noting that the sum does not cover his time and financial costs (...); the writer proposes the sum of 12,000Fr (...); the writer asks for an urgent reply (...); the writer adds that he is in a hurry because he has been mobilised (...)
