| Content | Thanks for VK's letter, he was late in replying; when asked about Vitulka Kaprálová's cellos, he thinks she wrote only one, which was played in Paris by the cellist Neumann, Mila Muncerová's husband, who probably also has a manuscript; BM was there [in Paris?] also left all the manuscripts; Jirka [Mucha] was probably already looking for them in Vitulka's flat; BM also had manuscripts with her, a number of songs he wrote for her; she wrote a string piece with him, which VK probably has, as it was played in Brno, then a Christmas suite which was broadcast on the radio from Paris; has he spoken to Jirka?, he certainly knows much more, perhaps he is already in Prague; he doesn't have much news from Prague, he is so busy here, but he would like to go there and to Polička; perhaps Ruda also wrote to him that the conductor of the N.Y. Philharmonic, A. Rodzinsky, is very interested in the Military Symphonietta, that VK should write to Melantrich to send the score to the Consulate; he is happy that Talich has been rehabilitated, "but the way they have divided it up in Prague does not impress me very much"; about Vitulka's other works - Concerto for Violin, clar. She probably only had plans, she knows nothing about the dances; Firkušný has perhaps only published compositions, he played them here often - April Preludes; Jirka wanted to publish a Memorial, it will certainly be published in Prague; warm greetings. |
