ContentHe is delighted with the completion of the opera and the offers for the premiere. He cannot sign the contract, his friend Dr. Max Tau, who already knows about the opera, does it for him. He himself has no objection to the terms of the Universal Edition. He agrees to 5% for the author of the English translation, Mr. Griffin. He thinks there is no need to pay other translators or publishers. He is very much looking forward to the premiere. He hopes it will not take place in June when it is in China. He expresses his pleasure at Martin's success. He asks Martinů to write to Mr. Tau. Encloses a statement giving Martinů permission to write a libretto based on his novel Christ Re-Crucified.
