Content and physical description
ContentHe answers BM honestly; Rudolf Karel and Jaroslav Křička are applying for the professorship of the Master Composer School; both have a claim to the position through their creative and teaching activities, even at the Conservatory itself, and both are his personal friends; he is aware of BM's eligibility for the position, but it is unthinkable that he would take it for them; he appreciates BM's art and realizes the importance of his position in Czech music and the need for direct contact with Prague "and that in doing so I am also impressed by the energy of your breakthrough so far under conditions of life not very favourable"; he is willing to intervene "when it comes to filling the post at the Institute's secondary school after one of the above-named"; he knows of no one more qualified to fill the post and such a post would serve BM for the time being.
