Content and physical description
ContentHe is waiting for news about Zrzave, everyone from the House of [Czechoslovak Culture] and elsewhere is asking about him and greeting him. He mentions some sad events they have learned about [the occupation of Czechoslovakia by German troops?] He calls on Zrzavý to return. Everyone would like to see him, everything could be arranged. He asks him to at least write, if possible. He invites him to spend the holidays in Vieux Moulin. As for Martin's return to Prague, he finds it unrealistic for the time being. He is thinking of travelling to the USA. He was looking forward to going home, but I don't think it's possible. Stáňa [Stanislav Novák] wrote to him that everything was beginning to be arranged again as before, which Martinů does not want to believe. He is interested in Zrzavý's opinion of the current situation. He himself is convinced that his place is here [in France]. He would probably get a place in Prague [at the conservatoire], but he doesn't know how he could work there himself. He and Charlotte both greet him.
