Content and physical description
ContentDespite the tiring weather, he has composed [The Rock] for the Cleveland Orchestra on a theme from American history (the arrival of the first pilgrims, the Plymouth Brothers) and is working on Parables for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. It's going well, although he's caught a scribal cramp in his right hand. He still has a problem with passports because the State Department doesn't like the fact that he stayed too long in Europe when he composed the Greek Passions. He received a cheque and a receipt from the bank for the rest of the money in his account. He thanks the Foundation again for the financial security because he can compose whatever he wants. He has the desire to write another opera.
