Content and physical description
ContentVladimír Vaněk thanks Charlotte Martinů for her letter of 19 December. He asks her to tell him her new address before she leaves Schönenberg. VV regrets that he [and Anna-Lisa Vanek] cannot help her with the move and that they live far away from each other so that they cannot visit each other often.
VV received a letter from Bedřich Janáček. BJ was happy to receive the manuscript of the organ piece [VIGILIE].
VV comments on ChM's idea of publishing VIGILIE with a Paris publisher: it is BM's first organ work, which requires minor editing. BJ is studying BM's style hard in order to finish the work from the organist's point of view. In its present state, the piece is not yet playable. The VV urges the addressee to accept the opportunity to work with BJ without embarrassment.
VV received a letter from his brother in Prague. The brother was reportedly visited by Miloš Šafránek and demanded everything his family has from BM. VV is not agreeable to this and expresses his aversion to BM. BM also had a legitimate aversion to MS. VV has, among other things, a drawing of BM and other things in Prague. He guards it carefully.
