NoteOpened in 1888. Called New German Theater, during World War II The Prague German Opera. After liberation, the building was handed over to the May 5th Theater, which later became part of the National Theatre in 1948 (since 1949 called the Smetana Theatre). Independent since 1992 as The Prague State Opera. Since 2012 became part of the National Theatre again as the State Opera.
