Content and physical description
ContentThe score of his CONCERTO FOR VLC AND ORCH. NO. 1 has been sent to Max Eschig in Paris. But they cannot send it to Mr. Van den Burg, since it will be needed for performances in America. As soon as they receive the material, they will reserve it for the next performance. Bohuslav Martinů should inform them when and where Van den Burg intends to perform the concerto. He should also provide them with more information about other possible performances planned. They sent to Mr. Oreste Piccardi in Milan the mentioned works back on 17 October [SERENADE, PARTITA, CONCERTO FOR STRING QUARTET AND ORCHESTRA]. They will also send his works to the music director Hermann Scherchen so that he can have a look at them. They kindly ask him to forgive them the belated reply to his letter; first, they had to find out the whereabouts of the autograph of his cello concerto.
